Steve joined Merrill Lynch in 1981 and has spent three decades serving the needs of high-net-worth individuals, families and businesses. The founder of The Loewenthal Group, Steve delivers an experienced approach to wealth management, investment portfolios and retirement strategies. Steve's areas of focus include developing robust financial strategies with an emphasis on tax minimization. As a Senior Portfolio Manager, Steve is specially qualified to offer discretionary portfolio management through the Merrill Lynch Personal Investment Advisory®(PIA) Program. Within the team, he is responsible for customized portfolio management strategies. Steve also serves on the board of The Self Help Home. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Michigan. Steve and his wife, Martha, live in Skokie, Illinois, and enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren.

Rod Loewenthal

Rod joined Merrill Lynch in 1995 and has 18 years of financial services experience. Today, Rod works closely with clients on wealth management and wealth transition strategies. He is a Senior Portfolio Manager qualified within the Merrill Lynch Personal Investment Advisory®(PIA) Program. He also holds the Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorSM (CRPC®) designation. He has earned the Certified Financial Manager (CFM) designation, which is an internal Merrill Lynch self-study curriculum based on a variety of wealth management topics and a course exam. Rod earned his Bachelor's degree with honors in History from the University of Michigan. He resides with his wife, Tracy, and their three children in Highland Park, Illinois.

Rod was named one of the Top 1,000 Advisors in the country by Barron's magazine in 2010, 2011 and 2013.

Betsy joined the Firm in 1985 and has spent the majority of her 28-year Merrill Lynch career coordinating all aspects of supervisory and administrative issues with senior branch management. Betsy joined The Loewenthal Group in 2005, bringing her talent and a tremendous drive to strengthen all aspects of the client experience. As a fully licensed Client Associate, Betsy provides support in all phases of client service and client relationship management. Betsy resides in Lindenhurst, Illinois, with her husband, James, and their three daughters.

Justin joined Merrill Lynch in 2006 and has eight years of financial services experience. Justin focuses on client service, cash management adjustments and new account processing. He assists clients who need fast answers to the day-to-day issues regarding their accounts. Justin earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio, and lettered three years on the varsity soccer team. He lives in Wheeling, Illinois, with his wife, Magdalena.

Kevin Kamholz

Wealth Management Advisor

Kevin joined Merrill Lynch in 1998 as a Trust Specialist with the Merrill Lynch Trust Company and the Merrill Lynch Wealth Structuring Group, and has served as a Wealth Management Advisor since early 2013. He joined the financial services industry in 1989. Kevin offers clients customized advice and guidance in wealth management, retirement planning and trust/wealth transfer strategies. He is a CFP® certificant, a designation awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. He also holds the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® (CAP®) and Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorSM (CRPC®) designations. Kevin earned a Bachelor's degree in Finance from Illinois State University and an MBA in Finance from DePaul University. He resides in Western Springs, Illinois, with his wife, Eileen, and two daughters.
