PROFESSIONAL PROFILE
Marcy Maycock is a Financial Advisor with the Private Client Group in the Rockville, Maryland office. She began her financial career in 1977 at Thomson McKinnon Securities in Miami, Florida. Mrs. Maycock then accepted a job with WPLG-TV in Miami, and later moved to Washington, D.C. to work for the ABC-TV News network in 1981. During her 20+ year television career she also created a freelance television production services company and a television news equipment leasing company. She never lost sight of her passion for the financial services industry, and returned in 1999 as a Financial Planning Associate for a boutique firm in Washington, D.C. She also worked as a Financial Advisor for Legg Mason in Bethesda, Maryland before accepting a position with Merrill Lynch in 2005.
Mrs. Maycock's background in network news brings an interesting and unique perspective to help clients plan and allocate their financial resources. Especially important is her ability to define key issues, then devise and implement cost-effective strategies based on the situation at hand. She also enjoys speaking to college students and women's organizations.
A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. Maycock attended Duke University in 1974. Later she developed and successfully gained approval for an interdisciplinary studies degree in International Economics and Politics at the University of Florida. Mrs. Maycock was the first graduate to earn her B.A. degree, with High Honors, in that major field of studies, completing her education in 3 years. She later completed coursework at The George Washington University towards an MBA in Finance and Investments.
Mrs. Maycock volunteers weekly for the Mental Health Association of Montgomery County Pets on Wheels program, and is an active member of the Potomac Valley Bernese Mountain Dog Club. She is a Washington Hebrew Congregation Sisterhood member and served as a committee chairman of their annual fundraiser for 14 years. Mrs. Maycock has 7 wonderful children and resides in Potomac, Maryland with her husband and her beloved dog Zeus.
