Justin J. Hurd, Wealth Management Advisor, Vice President, and Resident Director of the Castro Valley Office, began his career at Merrill Lynch in 1981. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance at Florida State University and has successfully completed his coursework for his Master of Science in Financial Services at The American College. Justin is a CFP®, ChFC, and CRPC® certificant, designations awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. He is also a Personal Investment Advisor SM Program Portfolio Manager. Justin is a frequent speaker on Wealth and Investments.

In addition to devoted service to each client, Justin serves the East Bay Community as the LMYA Basketball Commissioner, a former Oakland Zoo Trustee, a Castro Valley Library Association Campaign Steering Committee Member, a Member of the San Leandro Chamber of Commerce, and a Member of the Castro Valley Chamber of Commerce. Justin lives in Moraga with his wife and two daughters.

Sylvia Gonos Deaton, Financial Advisor, joined Merrill Lynch in 2006 after serving as the Membership Director at the San Leandro Chamber of Commerce. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Arts with Honors in Major: Science and Values, at John F. Kennedy University.

Sylvia, too, is deeply connected to the East Bay Community, serving as a Director on the Board for the Orinda Chamber of Commerce, the Team Captain of an annual Avon Breast Cancer Walk team, a Castro Valley Library Association Campaign Steering Committee Member, the Orinda Boy Scout Troop 303 Friends of Scouting Coordinator, a Member of the Orinda Association, a Member of the San Leandro Chamber of Commerce, and a Member of the Castro Valley Chamber of Commerce. She lives in Orinda with her new husband and blended family of four boys spanning elementary, middle, and high school; her step daughter is away at Baruch College in New York.

Evelyn Huey, Resident Director’s Assistant and Senior Client Associate, has been with Merrill Lynch since 2005 and has worked in the financial industry for over ten years. She handles account administration and client relations. Evelyn and her husband live in Alameda County.
