PROFESSIONAL PROFILE
Godfrey T.A. Turnbull, CFP®, CLU®, CDFA®, CIMA®
Financial Advisor
Circumstance change is often the driver for a client to seek a new advisor relationship, be it a life event such as starting a family or a change in investment objectives or focus, for example, transitioning from asset accumulation to retirement planning and management. My professional training in combination with Merrill Lynch specialists and product range enable an agreeable and appropriate plan to be developed and then executed.
My approach is process-orientated starting with goals, constraints and needs. Working together, financial needs are identified and product solutions are determined. Progress is reviewed on an agreed schedule, and, where necessary, changes are made to the particular plan and / or asset allocation.
Professional designations include: Certified Financial Planner certificant, a designation awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc.; Chartered Life Underwriter, a designation awarded by the American College; Certified Divorce Financial Analyst, a designation awarded by the Institute of Divorce Financial Analysts; and Certified Investment Management Analyst, a designation awarded by the Investment Management Consultants Association.
I was born in the UK and moved to the USA in 1994. All academic study was in the UK [BSc (Hons) from the University of Newcastle and an MBA from the University of Manchester]. My family and I reside in the suburbs, close to New York. I am a member of American Mensa and the Mind Society, and I support the American Cancer Society.
