David Ruckno, born in Kingston, PA attended the University of Pittsburgh. During his college years, David spent a semester at sea aboard the S.S. Universe Explorer, traveling the world while studying International Economics and World Politics. David was also a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity before graduating with a dual degree in Business and Economics. Upon graduation in 1997, David began working for Fidelity Investments as a brokerage representative and a trader. In 1999 David joined Paine Webber, which was eventually bought by UBS, as a Financial Advisor in Charlotte, NC. David moved to Hilton Head Island, SC in 2002. In April of 2009 David moved his business to Merrill Lynch when the office was to be sold by UBS to a different financial services firm.David lives in Spanish Wells with his wife Kelly, and three children: Emily, Alex, and Alyssa. David is the president of the local Pitt alumni association. David takes great joy in coaching his kid’s soccer teams. David enjoys playing golf, racquetball, USTA tennis and completed the 2008 Marine Corp Marathon in Washington, DC. David and his family attend St. Andrews by the Sea United Methodist Church. David is involved with the Sea Pines Montessori School, where his children attend. David and Kelly support a fund at the Community Foundation of the Low Country as well as sponsor local teachers to visit Colonial Williamsburg where they are enabled to learn about our nation’s history in a unique setting.
