Michael provides comprehensive wealth management and financial planning strategies to some of the firm's most affluent clients. He joined Merrill Lynch in 1992.
After a thorough review of client objectives and risk tolerance, his group tailors a portfolio to meet the risk/return needs of the investor while considering the investment time horizon, tax consequences, liquidity needs, any legal considerations and other unique circumstances. His team's philosophy emphasizes risk reduction through a long-term approach using asset allocation strategies.
Michael Reid obtained his Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of the Pacific. He holds an MBA from Sacramento State University, and a Master of Science in Finance from the Kelley Business School at Indiana University.
He completed a three year curriculum in investment analysis and portfolio management and has been awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. He obtained his Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certification from the CFP Board of Standards, and has completed the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) credential from The American College.
Mike is an active member in the Security Analysts of San Francisco, The CFA Institute, and the Financial Planning Association.
He lives with his wife and three children in Marin, north of San Francisco.
