Judith joined Merrill Lynch following a successful career in intercollegiate sports where as Director of Athletics, she managed multimillion dollar enterprises at California State University, Sacramento and Central Connecticut State University. And, as President of the United States Field Hockey Association, she led the organization from the brink of bankruptcy to financial solvency.
The clients she represents are interested in complete asset management--building and preserving wealth through diversified asset management and strategic planning. She views managing her clients' investment portfolios like building championship teams: it is consistent, high-quality performance, season after season, mixed with a compassionate and understanding advisory relationship, which really counts.
Caring for her twice widowed mother and managing her assets during the last 2 years of her life changed the focus of her practice to working with suddenly single women. "I often wondered what other women do if they're suddenly single and lack the knowledge, experience or confidence to manage their own finances for the rest of their lives, especially if they do not have anyone they can trust. While always considering myself empathetic, I developed new insights and expansive levels of compassion as I became a parent to my mother. Living through this experience defined a new focus for my practice."
My team provides suddenly single women with an emotionally safe place to plan their financial future. We appreciate the stress, anxiety and fear caused by suddenly facing life alone and we aim to provide compassionate financial guidance during difficult times. We use our expertise to reassure recently divorced or widowed women, as well as independent, single women, that with sound and sophisticated financial planning they can be secure throughout their lives.
Judith is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire (B.S.), Boston University (M.Ed.), and the University of Massachusetts (Ph.D.). She has received many professional honors, including Outstanding Alumnus Award from the University of Massachusetts' Department of Sport Management (1995) and induction into the University of Iowa, Athletic Hall of Fame (2005). She earned the CFP® designation, is a Certified Divorce Financial Practioner and holds the following licenses: NASD Series 7, 63, 65 and California Life Insurance. Judith is registered to conduct business in 12 states.
