These services are coordinated with outside advisors such as attorneys, CPAs, and 3rd party administrators to ensure that our clients get the greatest amount of attention with the least amount of distraction.

David E. Gurley, CIMA©, CAP™
David's passion is assisting institutions and high-net worth clients in their philanthropic strategies, estate planning issues, and business financial services. David brings 15 years of financial services experience and entrepreneurial success to our clients. David received his undergraduate degree from NC State, and his MBA from Kenan-Flagler at UNC-CH. He currently resides in the Southpark area of Charlotte with his wife Amy and two children, and is an active member of Forest Hill church, and a board member and volunteer of numerous non- profits in the Charlotte region including the United Way of Central Carolinas, Leadership Charlotte and NPower Charlotte Region.

Brent D. Cline, CFM, CRPC
Brent's specialty is in the area of retirement income planning, while also leading our efforts in corporate qualified and non-qualified retirement plans, as well as stock options plans for publicly held companies. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch, Brent spent more than 9 years providing solutions within the manufacturing industry. He received his Bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University following 5 years of living abroad in Saudi Arabia. Brent now resides in Mooresville, NC with his wife Tammy and 2 kids, where he is very active member of his church and the local Texas A&M alumni club.

Felix von Uklanski, CFA®
Felix provides oversight over investment platform, portfolio manager and individual security selection. His IFA designation enables us to serve International clients with multi-currency accounts, specialized research and other expertise. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch, Felix worked with some of the largest investment banks in the world in Amsterdam, London and New York. Felix received his MBA at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, and earned his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. He currently lives in the Plaza Midwood area of Charlotte with wife, Candice and 1 child, where he is a board member and volunteer of a number of local and International non-profit organizations including International House.


Julie Fender, Registered Client Associate
Julie leads the team's client service efforts and coordinates input from our team's partners and specialists. She assists clients in the areas of operations, such as record keeping, placing trades, and any other type of client need that does not require the opinion of the partners. Julie has worked in the financial services industry for eight years and with Merrill Lynch since March of 2005. She is an active practitioner of vinyasa yoga and an avid outdoor enthusiast. Julie is a graduate of Kent State University and now resides in the Plaza Midwood area of Charlotte.
